Awards & Honors
MechSE's faculty, students and alumni have distinguished themselves as teachers, researchers, businesspeople and leaders. Their accomplishments have brought them a variety of awards.
MechSE's faculty is regularly recognized for excellence in teaching and research and for outstanding professional contributions by international and national professional associations, such as the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the National Science Foundation and The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society. Our professors are also frequent recipients of honors and awards bestowed by the College of Engineering and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
MechSE students also have numerous opportunities to be recognized for high achievement in academic and leadership pursuits, with many awards, scholarships and fellowships being sponsored by MechSE alumni and friends.
Additional student awards originate in the College of Engineering. Our graduate students have also been honored through professional association award programs.
MechSE alumni continue to shine after leaving the University, whether they go into industry or academia. They are honored for professional as well as personal achievements, and we are proud of their accomplishments.
