With enrollments in excess of 39,000, the undergraduate, graduate and professional students of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign represent more than 25 percent of the combined populations of the University, Urbana (approximately 37,000) and Champaign (approximately 75,000). The University and its surrounding community offer numerous opportunities for cultural activities, sports and fitness and outdoor recreation.
Urbana-Champaign offers big-city amenities with small-town traffic. The twin cities are centrally located among Chicago (just 135 miles away), St. Louis (180 miles away) and Indianapolis (125 miles away), making for easy travel to just about anywhere in the world. Direct flights to the University's Willard Airport are available from Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Detroit.
